Manufacturing Day

Orange County HSHT students participate in Manufacturing Day with an industry tour at the Nautique Boat Factory in Orlando.

Our nation is facing a crucial shortage in the number of students who have an interest in pursuing careers in technology related fields. The National Science Foundation reports that the percentage of students studying math and science has decreased from 21% in 1980 to 16% today. Consequently, employers in STEM fields are seeking diverse talent as they build the workforce of the future.

The Able Trust High School High Tech program provides a career pathway and links students with disabilities to the wide range of technology careers available in our world today. The core of HSHT is made up of corporate partnerships with organizations who will support the program locally and regionally.

Businesses benefit by connecting with HSHT:

  • Helping to strengthen the future workforce.
  • Aligning industry standards and critical skills with student learning.
  • Engaging and educating students about Industry services, technology and 21st Century workplace demands.
